The word for today is - Bible !

 

I was thinking about a young woman at work this morning, she ask me to tell her what does the bible mean? I told her, let us start with the letters, some people may not know this, but the interpretation of the word Bible, it means, B- basic, I- instructions, B-before, L -leaving, E- Earth !!!! So, some people may say, why do we need to know this? Think about this, there is a heaven and a hell, where do you choose to go? The bible is more then a book, its the word of God to us and for us! The writers include prophets, fishermen, kings, ministers, lawyers, priests, a doctor and even a tax collector, was chosen by God to write and speak the truth.The word of God says, read my word in Joshua 1:8,This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. God's Word is alive, the more you expose yourself to it, the more it will expose itself to you.To know God better you must spend time hearing what He has to say to you. The Bible is His message to us and for us. We are spiritually dead, His word is life! God is a spirit! We need to learn the ways of the Lord, read Romans 15:4,For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Also, we must believe what we are reading in His word, its in John 8:31-32,Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. However, without reading the Bible, you will not grow spiritually, and you will be more easily deceived.Only those who continue in God's Word come to the place of knowing the truth, read Romans 10:17-18, So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world. The bible is a living word, its God's word speaking to us (the believers), read 2 Timothy 3:16-17, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
