The word for today is - Work !

The word for today is - Work !

The question is," what is your job?" From the very beginning of time in the Bible in Genesis 2 we learn that work was part of God's creative plan. Read Genesis 2:15,And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. So, work is a good and positive part of our daily activity. Not working because we can't be bothered with people is not an option. The ones that are not working and can, are to busy in other things that are not good. The word from God says, that some people are not busy in good things, but they are busybodies in everything that is not like Him. It is the word of God read it for yourself. The Bible tells us," the one who is unwilling to work shall not eat,” read 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12, For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. Lets look at Ecclesiastes 9:10,Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. So, there is work for you to do. Read Colossians 3:23-24, And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. So, as you work, you are not working for man, you are working as to the Lord. Get this, you are not a servant to man, it is Christ we are serving. We are called to work hard at everything because our ultimate reward is in Heaven not on Earth. For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men. Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God. Now read,Psalm 1:1-6, Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. So, are your ways righteous or ungodly in your walk and your way of talking. Do you know, that this is a command of God's, to walk to the counsel of the word from God. If, you choose to walk in the ways of the ungodly then you will fall. Read Hebrews 13:5,Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. In others words, (NIV),Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,“Never will I leave you;never will I forsake you.” The word is saying, it is good to work, but some employers may expect employees to work long hours which may lead to the employee spending long hours at work instead of focusing on serving God. And the word says, in Luke 9:25,For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? Thank you Lord for your word.Amen !
