The word for today is - Search !

Good morning,
The word for today is - Search !

Lets start with a open mind first, man is searching for God. You don't have to search for him, he is everywhere. The Bible states very clearly that God speaks through nature. We have enough evidence to point us in the right direction. God's revelation of himself through nature,God is omnipresent this means being present everywhere at the same time. David says in Psalm 139:7-10,Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. It is by Spirit that the Father has complete access to the universe. God has made himself known to us supremely by entering human history by His Son Jesus Christ and taking upon himself our human nature. The Bible declares that he lived a perfect human life, and then he died on the cross for our sins to reconcile us to God, that he rose from the dead, that he now reigns as Lord, and that he will one day return to judge the world. The Bible itself claims that you will grow in faith the more you read and meditate upon the word of God. Now get this, God knows that you can not figure it out by yourself, so he gave us a helper, (the Holy Spirit) and the bible, you have to open your Bible and begin reading and meditate upon the word. The word is not enough, what we need is the hunger and thirst to read it, in order for us to get understanding. God is eager to give us what we need, the more we spend time in His word, the more the word itself will generate this hunger within us to know Him. Do you have a hunger for natural food or Spiritual food? The Bible itself claims that you will grow in faith the more we read and meditate upon the word of God. The Lord spoke these words in Joshua 1:8, This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua was instructed to meditate day and night, and we are instructed to do the same. You see we can not walk around speaking some other gospel, there is only one true gospel and that is the gospel of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The word tells us let the word of God dwell in you, read Colossians 3:16,Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Do you see the key word? The word is in your heart! To have the word of God indwelling richly in us requires more, involve careful study, thoughtful consideration, prayer in the spirit, speaking and sharing the word with others, helping others to know the truth of the living God. Study to acquire knowledge of the doctrines of the Bible. We need to take advantage of the opportunities the Lord has given us for meditation in His word, a practice that has the power to transform us and make us a blessing to others if we understand its value and learn its secrets. Its a free gift, do you want it? Wisdom is another benefit of meditating on God's word, it is something that man cannot take away from you, because it did not come from man, it came from God. So,lets look at a particular application of meditating on God's word and its benefits: the Lord Jesus being tempted by the Devil in the wilderness. After His baptism, at which time the Father spoke from heaven and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in the form of a dove, Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert, where he fasted for forty days and nights. What He was doing during that time the Bible doesn't say directly, but there are strong indications that He was meditating on the word of God, even a particular portion of Scripture. Read Deuteronomy 8:3,And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live. Lord search our hearts, if their is anything that is not like you remove it! We need more of you and less of ourself. Read Matthew 7:8,For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Knock the door will open for you! Thank you Lord for your word. Amen !
