The word for today is - Authority !

Good morning,
The word for today is - Authority !

“Authority” means “the right to command and enforce obedience.” When we accept Jesus Christ as our “Lord,” this means that He has become our “boss” or “authority” over our whole life. Read Luke 6:45-46, A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? In addition, the Bible becomes the source of authoritative instruction for our life read 2 Timothy 3:16-17, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. Since submission to authority is basic to a believers life, it is important that we understand that all authority is a God-given institution, and all types of authority are related. Christ is the highest source of authority that we must answer to read Matthew 28:18,And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. We have authority from people in this world that we must also submit to, first the word of God,read Acts 5:29,Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. The leadership of the church, its in Hebrews 13:17,Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. Our parents have authority over us, its in the word read Ephesians 6:1-3, Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. Also the law of God for the land, read Romans 13:1-2, Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. Also the authority of a man, read 1 Corinthians 11:3, But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. Authority must be understood by every believer since it is the entire basis of our relationship with Christ. When people deal with Scripture, they are dealing with God himself, the creator of the universe, the one who has all power in heaven and earth, and who knows all things. You are dealing with the one whose opinions count, whose word is automatically truth because he knows everything, and because he does not lie. God himself is a rock and a strong  foundation, and his words are faithful and true. Therefore, anyone who does not approach the scripture with fear of the Lord, either does not know Scriptures or does not know who the Lord is. The firm foundation of God’s Word must be the anchor for our soul, our hope is in Him. My hope is built on Jesus’ blood and righteousness. It is on this solid Rock that I anchor my soul and hold fast until the storms of life are passed. Build on the word, it will stand forever.Thank you Lord for your word. Amen !
