The message to the beloved Children of God - Putting Others First !

In honor of Black History Month, known also as African-American History Month in America. Everyday we will have a study on History and God's love. The lesson is about a 23 year old girl speaking out for others.
                                                   Naquasia LeGrand
Naquasia LeGrand, a 23-year-old resident of Canarsie, Brooklyn. Earlier this week, Naquasia LeGrand was working the closing shift at a KFC restaurant in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood. On Thursday, she was en route to Washington, D.C., to meet President Barack Obama. It has been an interesting year so far for the 22-year-old union activist, a member of the Fast Food Forward movement that’s calling on fast-food companies to pay their employees a starting wage of $15 an hour. After participating in five strikes backed by the Service Employees International Union and the local NY Communities for Change group, LeGrand has become New York City’s face of a growing national movement that underscores the discord between how much millions of fast-food workers in the country earn compared to how much it costs them to live in the United States. There are currently about 8.1 million people in the U.S. working in food preparation and serving-related occupations who make a median wage of $8.98 an hour, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. About 3 million of these workers are fast-food cooks and counter employees, who on average make the lowest wages in the U.S. food services industry. Before traveling to the White House on Thursday, she made an appearance on Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” to deliver her message to the show’s largely sympathetic audience. In an interview with the L.A. Times last year, LeGrand described how she became a labor activist after hearing so many stories from co-workers describing how difficult it was to pay the bills. In a city where $1,500 for a one-bedroom apartment is considered a bargain, it’s difficult to comprehend how service-sector employees being paid even 20 percent to 30 percent above minimum wage can make it here.

A question was asked, How does someone survive on $8 an hour in this city?

LeGrand replied, Me and my grandmother, my aunt and my little cousin live in a two-bedroom apartment. The rent is $1,300. When I started, I was getting about 35 hours a week, when I was training to be a supervisor. That went on for months even before the new manager came in and started cutting hours and hiring more people. Right now I’m only getting about 15 hours a week, so I’m taking home about $100 a week. People have to live together on $8.oo minimum wage. The message here is clear, who is putting others first? Help us Lord to change our way of thinking and doing things for others.
The message to the beloved Children of God - Putting Others First !
Do you know what the bible says about putting others first? Understand Jesus should always be first in your live no matter what. Then other people, your mother and father, your brothers and sisters, your family members, your friends, your co-workers, your neighbours and people that need help. In the book of Romans chapter 15, Paul says in verse 1-4, We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Jesus is the greatest example to follow, His word is truth and power. We must learn to lay aside ourselves, for the sake of others, this is why I'm sending Thursday's word today. I always put God first, I woke up thursday morning giving the Lord thanks. Then god started my journey, I took care of somethings for my mother early in the morning before I when to work. Then I was driving to work talking with the Lord. I was asking God to give me some understanding of my sisters. The Holy Spirit spoke this to me, I created you for a purpose, for such a time as this. Then, I had made a phone call to my oldest Uncle to say happy birthday, then I called His's girlfriend. I asked her if she had any plans for his birthday today (Thursday)? So, we planned a surprise dinner for Him, family and friends. It was Awesome, he was so thankful. He is 70 years wiser, then the youth out there today. Thank you Lord for his life and his loving spirit, a/k/a-(Uncle Brother). Sometimes, we will have to make a choice, to trust God's will or be like everybody else. We don't have to understand everything, but we must acknowledge God's will. The word of God says, in Proverbs 3:5-6,Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Christ bore the “reproaches” or sufferings for our sake. He could have called the angels to rescue Him but He chose not to, He did this for our salvation. We are weak people, so He gave up Himself to strengthen us. This is the perfect example for us to follow in our daily lives: putting Jesus first, then Others, then Yourself. Heavenly Father, we come before you at the throne room seeking your direction. Let us learn to be more like you Jesus. We have studied your word daily, but we need your power to overcome everything that is not like you. There is only one way to "return God's Word unto Him" and that is by confessing it as being the true living word for your life. This is the faith of Abraham, he had to begin calling himself the father of many nations (Calling those things which be not as though they were) long before his son Isaac was ever conceived in the womb of Sarah. There simply is no separating the power of the Holy Spirit from the spoken Word of God! Trust the word and His plans for your life. Heavenly Father, help us learn to put others before ourselves. Let us learn to have unconditional love for one another. For we are one in the body of Christ ! Thank you Lord for your word. Amen !
