The word for today is - Strong !

 

I'm going to start this morning with a question? Do you not know that the Lord has give us a command to be strong in Him? Read Joshua 1:9-11,Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God giveth you to possess it. Did you get that? The Lord has given you the power to make it through. The word says, Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial. Read James 1:12-14,Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.We have to stand on the word of God, read 1 Corinthians 16:13, Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. The question is this for many people, be strong in what? The answer is, in the word of God! The word says , be strong in the Lord,read Ephesians 6:10, Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Lets look at what the Lord told his disciples to do. Read Mark 6:45-51,And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people. And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray. And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land. And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them. But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out: For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered. You see the word of God is truth, He said in His word, I (the Lord) knew you before I formed you in the womb I knew you, its the hand of God on your life. The word of God is saying, I (the Lord) did it! Read Jeremiah 1:5,Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. So, why are you walking around everyday worrying about being strong? You are stronger then you think, read Isaiah 11:1-5,And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. Thats powerful! Now get this, don't believe everything you hear, the word says try the spirit and know that it is of God. Read 1 John 4:1-3,Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. That is why we need to be strong in the word of God. You have to know for yourself God's word is sufficient. Read 2 Corinthians 12:9, And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Thank you Lord for your word. Amen !
