The word for today is - Friend !

Good morning,
The word for today is - Friend !

The word "friend" is found about ninety times in the Bible. The Bible says, A man that hath friends must show himself friendly read Proverbs 18: 24,"A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." Now, some people are too distant to form friendships, you must understand that, there is great value in friendship. You see"two are better than one," it is written in the word from God. Read Ecclesiastes 4:9-10,Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Now get this, read Proverbs 27:17,Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Jesus offers man his friendship, Jesus said in John 15: 14-15,Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Thats powerful, He has made it known to us in the word ! Get this, Proverbs 17:17,A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. The word says at all times, not sometimes! Jesus is the ultimate friend of mankind, you see He died for His friends, read John 15: 13, Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.  Now get this,Who are you walking with? Is it a true friend? Read Proverbs 13:20, He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. There is a friendship we can learn a lot from in the Old Testament read I Samuel 18:1-4, And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father's house. Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul. And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle. When David and Jonathan met they became close friends. Their friendship was one of the deepest and closest. Here’s what made it special:They based their friendship on commitment to God, not just each other. They didn’t let anything come between them. They drew closer together when their friendship was tested. They were able to remain friends to the end. Just like David and Jonathan, this is the kind of friendship that Jesus saw that we all need today. He tells us don't walk in darkness, read 1 John 2:9-10,He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. God tells us to walk in love, read John 13:34-35,A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. Jesus meant it to include all mankind, even our enemies! Thank you Lord for your word. Amen !
