The word for today is - Vine!

Good morning,
The word for today is - Vine!

When we walk in the Spirit, we are abiding in Christ "the True Vine," and will reap fruit. We begin to realize that we truly died with Christ on the cross and now live in the power of His resurrection. The battle is already won for every believer in Christ.  We are asked to stand against the darkness in the victory of Christ. Read John 15,"I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.  Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.  Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.  Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.  I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.  If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.  If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.  By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.Jesus Christ says I am the true vine, God say this  to His disciples for a two-fold purpose: First, to let His disciples know that even though He would not be physically present with them always, He would send the Holy Spirit to be “with” and “in” them read Joh.14:17.   Second, He uses this opportunity to instruct them to remain in close fellowship with Him through the Holy Spirit, that they may bear spiritual fruit, receive answers to prayer, and have fullness of joy. Jesus Christ is the source of life unto the branches or the body of Christ. Christ is the Head or "source" of life to the church (the body of Christ).  As children of God, we have Christ in us through God's gift of the Holy Spirit given to every believer. This verse simply means that a person who is not abiding in God, then he or she is not growing spiritually in the knowledge and ways of God and is lacking in the fruits of the Spirit.  This person is or becomes useless in the things of God, and is similar to a withered branch that men would gather and burn because it bears no fruit. Do you know, who you are? Read Matthews 5:13, Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.  Remember the words that I (Jesus) said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.  The Holy Spirit will guide and direct our lives through God's Word and empower us as we yield our lives to Him. By remaining in the vine, we remain as lights in the world and remain as the salt of the earth being witnesses of Christ. Thank you God for your word. Amen !
