The word for today is - First !

Good morning,
The word for today is - First !

First,to read and understand the Bible is to know that only God can open the hearts and minds of people to the Truth. For His children (the believers) are living in the last days, He prepares them for what’s to come as they prepare for His coming. He does not leave His children ( the believers) ignorant as to His plans for this world. He tells us first in Ecclesiastes 1:9, The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Did you get that? believe His word. Does your love belong to the Lord  first?  Has He absolute priority in your life?  Does everything else in your life come after Him?  What does the Bible mean by first love? The Bible ask us about our first love for Jesus. It is talking about whether our love for Jesus has first place in our life. “First love” does not necessarily mean the love we had for Jesus at the beginning of our Christian lives.  At the beginning of our relationship there is the phase of “falling in love,” which later changes to the phase of “being in love.” True love changes, but not in the sense that it decreases. This shows us that true love is more than just a romantic feeling. When passion and love for Jesus decline, we have  lost our first love for Him. God wants our undivided love. Let's look at one of the Pharisees who was a lawyer, asking Jesus a  question (testing him),in Matthew 22:36, Master (teacher) which is the great commandment in the law? Read Matthew 22:37-38, Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. He does not only want our praise but the undivided devotion of the whole person who turns to Him in love.He must have first place in our lives. He showed us in a very radical way that this first love for Him is absolutely essential when He said in Matthew 10:37,  “He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me” . If we let anyone or anything else come before our first love, then He ( Jesus) is no longer the first love, but the second, or even the third. Let's look at the words of Jesus, read, Revelation 2:4-5, The Lord Jesus said to the Church at Ephesus, “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent”The first love was gone and so the church of Ephesus was in danger of losing her light. The Lord made it clear what true discipleship is when He uttered these earnest words in Luke 14:33, “Whoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple”. The words of Jesus, “I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.” The first love was gone and so the church of Ephesus was in danger of losing her light. Hold on to your first love, don't let your light go out. Who is first in your life?Thank you God for your word. Amen !
