The message for the beloved Children of God - Give Honor to whom honor is due !

Good morning,
The message for the beloved Children of God - Give Honor to whom honor is due !
We give honor to our Lord and Savior first, for all He has done for us. Now, we are Celebrating the 85th Birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He was born on this day January 15th, 1929 ! Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an important civil rights activist. He was a leader in the movement to end racial segregation in the United States. His most famous address was the "I Have A Dream" speech. He was an advocate of non-violent protest and became the youngest man to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He was assassinated in 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s commitment to non-violence was unequivocal and unambiguous. This commitment was predicated on his belief that our ability to survive, internationally and domestically, is limited to only two choices: non-violence or non-existence, non-violence or co-annihilation. Let me give you some history of Dr. Martin Luther King. He attended Booker T. Washington High School, where he was said to be a precocious student. He skipped both the ninth and eleventh grades, and entered Morehouse College in Atlanta at age 15, in 1944. In 1948, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. earned a sociology degree from Morehouse College and attended the liberal Crozer Theological Seminary in Chester, Pennsylvania. Did you know that? He thrived in all his studies, and was valedictorian of his class in 1951, and elected student body president. He also earned a fellowship for graduate study. Understand why you are celebrating Him and what He has done! It is a new year 2014, let us take the time to honor and love one another. The Bible has a great deal to say about honor and whom we should honor. It is very clear that honoring someone goes way beyond just respecting our parents. He does not limit it to honoring our parents only. God wants us to respect and honor one another daily. Romans 12:10-13 says, Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. We are to honor one another, but do we? Perhaps we should challenge ourselves this new year 2014, and think of some ways to show honor to someone, each day. Let us pray together, Heavenly Father, we give you all the glory and honor. We worship you Lord for evermore ! Let us never forget "I Have A Dream" speech and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Let us teach our children and grandchildren the history of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. all year long. We are moving forward by your spirit and will, Holy Spirit have your way. Thank you Lord for your word. Amen !
