The Living Word of God - The Keys of the Kingdom !

Good morning,
The Living Word of God - The Keys of the Kingdom !
Jesus gave Peter and the Apostles authority over both the doctrine and practices of the first-century church. Through the leading of the Holy Spirit, they would be given wisdom to know what to forbid and what to permit. The Bible uses a key as a symbol of authority by God. So, what was Christ telling Peter in Matthew 16:16–19? In order to understand these verses, it is of vital importance to understand what Christ calls the “keys” and in what context Christ authorizes the Church to “bind” or “loose” someone. After Jesus had declared that He would build His church on the truth of Peter’s noble confession. In Matthew 16:16-19, we find an interesting dialogue between  Jesus and Peter, His disciple. Jesus has just asked Peter who he believed Him to be? His answer was, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” From this Scripture, we notice that before we can receive the keys to the kingdom, we must first have the same revelation concerning the Lord that Peter had ! We must believe in the Son of the living God, this truth comes only through the revelation of the Holy Spirit. The word of God tells us to get understanding first. We must understand these verses, it is of vital importance to know what Christ calls the “keys” and in what context Christ authorizes the Church to “bind” or “loose” someone. The Biblical principles necessary to produce our prayers answer is by the word. We cannot “bind” anything on earth that is not “bound” in heaven, or “loose” anything that is not already “loosed” in heaven. So we can see that the aforementioned agreement must be more than two people simply deciding that they want something and then asking for it together. Our prayers must agree with the Word and Spirit of God. The “keys” to God’s Kingdom are the gospel message that brings one to Christ, and through Christ we receive eternal salvation. Christ is the “door” to the Kingdom of God only. There are basically two reasons why some people will not receive the “keys” to the Kingdom of God, and therefore the “door” to the Kingdom of God will not be opened to them. The first reason is that God must draw and select a person before they can understand the gospel message. Christ said in John 6:43-44,Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.The second reason why some people will not receive the “keys” to the Kingdom of God is because they are not worthy to receive them. Christ explains in Matthew 7:6,Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. Christ is talking about those people who understand that Christ is the only way to salvation, but who rejected to follow Him. For example, the Pharisees and Sadducees knew who Christ was and knew He was from God.One of the first keys to the kingdom is that of prayer. Prayer is the primary means we have to communicate with God. The Lord instructs us to pray from the secret chambers of our hearts; this is what He means by entering into our closets. We are to pray from our hearts to the Father and not pray just to be heard by people.Understand you have been giving a mission by God.The design of the devil is, to keep people ignorance to the gospel. The servants of God,and the ministry, have a similar responsibility to assist those God is calling. Heavenly Father forgive us for not doing your will.Let us not preach of ourselves, but preach and teach the good news of Jesus Christ. For it's written in 2 Corinthians 4:5-7, For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. Thank you Lord for the Living Word that dwells within us. Amen !
