The word for today is - Disciples !

The word for today is - Disciples !

The question is, Who are you? Are you one of my disciples? Yes ! Who is a disciple? A disciple is a follower of Jesus Christ. You see the disciples were the students of Jesus during his ministry. The word disciple is used today as a way of self-identification for those who seek to learn from the teachings of Jesus. A definition for who is a disciple ,read John 13:34-35, A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.Jesus told the disciples to give up their wealth and their familial ties. You have to understand that a disciple will say, and go, and do what ever the Spirit leads them to do. Read Romans 12:2, And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Understanding this, there was a command giving to the original twelve disciples of Jesus, by God, go and speak the good news (the gospel) to the people. It's the same for His disciples today! So, check this out,In Matthew chapter 18 the disciples argue over which of themselves will be the greatest when Jesus' kingdom comes into full effect. Jesus responds, to explain their  misunderstanding of the humble and self-sacrificial nature of his teaching, "whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be your slave." Did you get that? Here it is, you must be a servant to others and you must put others needs before you. Wow! That's want Jesus did, He came not to be served, but to serve. It's in Mark 10:45,For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Now, read it in the NIV Bible it says, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”  Understanding the word from God, I have chosen you to be my disciple, read John 15:16-21, "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you". These things I command you, that ye love one another. If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. He told them everything, the beginning and the end! You see,Jesus met His disciples privately on the Mount of Olives and instructed them concerning the sign of His coming. Jesus didn't tell His disciples they would be raptured into heaven, but they will see Him appear "after the tribulation." And then,He will send His angels with a loud trumpet to gather the elect.  And the disciples were instructed by Jesus before His ascension: Being a disciple of Jesus Christ requires a mindset that forsakes the individual will for the will of God. Anytime we choose God's will, it requires action. Action requires focus ,when a person sets his mind "on things above and not on the Earth beneath." In fact, when a person pursues God and seeks to be a disciple, his friendships actually tend to develop richer meaning and feel more fulfilling than friendships ever did before. Why,because the Spirit of Love is all around you, not sometimes but all the time. Thank you Lord for your word. Amen !
