The word for today is - Be-still!

Good morning,
The word for today is -  Be-still!

Now lets look at Psalm 46:10,Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.God’s people are commanded to “be still” in this verse. The imperative gives a solemn duty to those in a covenant relationship with God,  Israel in the Old Testament, but today, it is given to Christians in Galatians 3:26-29. Now ,this command ,“be still” forces us to think on two things: that we are finite, and that God is infinite. That being the case, we need to drop our hands," relax," and “chill out.” It is God who knows our future, now we have to know that in our heart and mind, not merely intellectually, but practically, spiritually, and emotionally, that He is our God. He is the ruler of this earth and the all-powerful Creator of the Universe. Read  Psalm 46:1-2 ,“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth do change”. So, lets go dig some more, some people may say,How am I supposed to “be still” when all I want to do is lash back in anger, frustration, or bitterness?  What does it mean to “know” that He is God? This means unless we “know” that He is God, the text doesn’t say to “know God,” but “know that I am God.”  Knowing that He is God, should instill peace in our hearts.  Knowing that He is God means that we also know, that He is in control and that He loves us, He extends His grace and mercy to us.  As Paul stated; His grace is sufficient.  It absolutely is!  Knowing that He is God, takes the pressure off of our shoulders, and we give it to Him. God is in control. So read Psalm 24:1-10,The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah. Thank you Lord for your word. Amen !
