The word for today is - Overcomers !

 

Sometimes we are afraid, sometimes this “spirit of fear” overcomes us, and to overcome it we need to trust in and love God completely. No one is perfect, and God knows this. That is why He has liberally sprinkled encouragement against fear throughout the Bible. Beginning in the book of Genesis and continuing throughout the book of Revelation, God reminds us to “Fear not.” The only fear that we should have is the fear of the Lord. Now,The fear of the Lord is a total acknowledgement of who God is, which comes through knowing Him and His attributes. What can man do to me? This is an awesome testimony to the power of trusting in God. Regardless of what happens, we must trust in God . We must get in a place with God to know and understand the power of God. The key to overcoming fear, then is total and complete trust in God. Once we have learned to put our trust in God, we will no longer be afraid of the things that come against us. Read Romans 8:15, For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. We are overcomers !  Let’s being with an example from the story of David and Goliath, found in 1 Samuel 17:9, “If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.These are bold words David is speaking. The scriptures don’t record whether King Saul knew David was going to make such a bold statement.  He was not fighting this battle in his own strength, ( the power of God), he knew in his heart that God would give him the victory. As you fight the good fight , you got to know that God will give you the victory. God will protect you. Read Jeremiah 1:19, And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee. Now read Matthew 16:18, “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell  shall not prevail against it. ” Do you not know who you are? Your an overcomer! Now read 1 John 5:4,For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Now this is the outcome, read Isaiah 55:8-13, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
