The word for today is - Rise !

Good morning,
Happy Resurrection Day!
The word for today is - Rise !

Read John 20:9, For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. The Resurrection, the first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, seeking Jesus' body. When Mary Magdalene saw Him, Jesus didn't allow Mary to touch Him.Why?  He was essentially saying, "It's not going to be the way it used to be. You can't hold on to Me in the old way . It's a new covenant." Read John 20: 17-18, Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her. Did you get that?  Jesus taught his disciples that they, too, would be raised from the dead.Read Revelation 1:18,"I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death."Let's look at the story of Jesus, Lazarus and the two sisters Martha and Mary. On one occasion, Lazarus was sick and we read in John 11:3, Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold,he whom thou lovest is sick. Yet we read that Jesus delayed going. Why? It was not because Jesus did not care, but that he might teach a profound lesson to his disciples. By the time Jesus arrived Lazarus was dead. Yet he told the disciples in John 11:14,"Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him." A lesson to teach his disciples belief and faith in Jesus and the power given to him by God, to raise the dead. Now when Martha saw Jesus, she said to him"Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died." verse 21. Jesus said to her"Thy brother shall rise again." verse 23.  Now notice Martha's answer very carefully. She said "I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day." verse 24.  Also, read 11: 25-26, Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? Read John 11: 43, And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And in verse 44, He that was dead came forth read it. The life which Jesus promises to his followers when he comes back is something quite different from our lives today with all the cares and worries that we all experience. We have seen already that Jesus Christ is coming back to set up the Kingdom of God and reign over the whole earth. When he come to do this, he will raise the dead. Then those who have been faithful will be given eternal life.  In 1 Thessalonians 4: 14-17 ,we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air".You might think that he is speaking of going to heaven. But look again. Paul does not speak of meeting the Lord in heaven, but meeting him in the air. So after the resurrection of the dead, those raised will be gathered together with those disciples who are alive at the coming of Jesus. Then the judgement will take place.  As we look forward to that time, the apostle Paul tells us to be "steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord". Thank you God for your word. Also, thank you for loving us!  Amen!
