Tribute to African Americans this Month !

Tribute to African Americans this Month ! It's February, the month that is dedicated as Black History Month, honoring the triumphs and struggles of African Americans throughout U.S. history, including the civil rights movement and their artistic, cultural and political achievements. To honor someone is to show him or her the respect and how much we value them. God wants us to honor one another in this life with love and truth. This week we're giving honor to the six men who served as Tuskegee Airmen Pilots. We're honoring Mr. Daniel Chappie James (born 1920, passed away 1978). Mr.Daniel James, the first Black four-star general in the Air Force, became a member of the Tuskegee Airmen in 1943, but spent World War II stateside as a flight instructor. During the Korean War, he flew 101 combat missions. As a vice commander of the Eighth Tactical Fighter Wing in Thailand, Mr. James flew 78 combat missions during the Vietnam War. In 1970, as the commander of the 727,2nd Fighter Training Wing at Wheelus Air Force Base in Libya, Mr. James had a memorable standoff with Muammar el-Qaddafi, who had recently led a successful military coup of Libya’s government. Qaddafi was attempting to seize the base when he encountered Mr. James outside its gates.“ I had my .45 in my belt. I told him to move his hand away. If he had pulled that gun, he never would have cleared his holster,” Mr. James said. The encounter passed without incident and Mr. James succeeded in removing 4,000 people and $21 million in assets from the facility. He died on February 25, 1978, a month after retiring from the Air Force. As I'm studying the history of the six Tuskegee Airmen Pilots, I had to think about their faith, strength and encouragement towards each other. Believing that with God's plan and purpose for their lives made everything successful. Getting understanding that Emmanuel is with us. For it is written in Joshua 1:7-9,“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” God has commanded us to stand firm in our faith, believing that everything will work out for our good. For it is written in Proverbs 3:5-6,Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. So, we walk by faith, not by sight. Amen !Others can follow the word at :  http://1spiritualfood.blogspot.com/
