Scriptures to Meditate on today !  It's February, the month that is dedicated as Black History Month, honoring the triumphs and struggles of African Americans throughout U.S. history, including the civil rights movement and their artistic, cultural and political achievements. To honor someone is to show him or her the respect and how much we value them. God wants us to honor one another in this life with love and truth. Today we honor Dr.Martin Luther King, Jr., He was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia, the second child of Pastor Martin Luther King Sr.and Alberta Williams King, a former school teacher. Dr.Martin Luther King, Jr.was a social activist and Baptist minister who played a key role in the American civil rights movement from the mid-1950s until his assassination in 1968. Dr.King sought equality and human rights for African Americans, the economically disadvantaged and all victims of injustice through peaceful protest. He was the driving force behind watershed events such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the 1963 March on Washington, which helped bring about such landmark legislation as the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act. Dr.King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 and is remembered each year on Dr.Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a U.S. federal holiday since 1986. Be the best of whatever you are.”12.)“Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?’” Wow, are you light or darkness, are you living in fear or faith ? Awake from sleeping children of God we have work to do. Let be doers of the Word, but not just hearers only. We can help somebody today with resource information , food, clothes, or some encouragement from God's Word. We're commanded by God to help the poor and needy. In the Bible, God speaks often of the poor and needy. He commands us to give generously to the less fortunate. Let not our living be in vain children of God. We're blessed to be a blessing, for God to get the Glory ! Let's look at John chapter 11,it tells the story of a man named Lazarus, Jesus’ beloved friend, who died of an illness. By the time Jesus showed up on the scene, he had already been dead four days and Lazarus’ family was convinced that there was no hope. But Jesus, who said “I am the Resurrection and the Life,” commanded Lazarus to come forth out of the grave. And just like that, the dead man rose, still wrapped in his grave clothes. This Bible story assures you that, when it looks like the moments for change and breakthrough have passed you by, God still will produce a miracle for you. Children of God, we have to walk by faith not by sight. For it is written in John 11:1-16, Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. (This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one who poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair.) So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.” When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.”  Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days,  and then he said to his disciples, “Let us go back to Judea.” “But Rabbi,” they said, “a short while ago the Jews there tried to stone you, and yet you are going back?”Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in the daytime will not stumble, for they see by this world’s light.  It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light.” After he had said this, he went on to tell them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.”His disciples replied, “Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better.” Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant natural sleep. So then he told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.”Then Thomas (also known as Didymus) said to the rest of the disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with him.” The question for us all today, are we willing to die with him ? Abba Father thank you for "YOUR WORD." For it is written in James 5:7-8, Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. May the spirit of Yahweh keep us and strengthen us by "His Spirit." For it is written in Ephesians 3:16-21,I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. We pray for Israel, we pray for our families, we pray for one another, the sick, the needy and the oppressed,our country and we pray for those in authority in Washington DC, our churches, our teachers, our officers, our communities, the prison system, our local states and national leaders, the nation & nations, our front line workers and the body of Christ. Lord, I pray that we all have your wisdom in moving forward on the earth. Let us seek, "Your Will God" for the body of Christ. For it is written in 2 Chronicles 7:14, If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen !
