The word for today is - Desire !

Good morning,
The word for today is - Desire !

Lets read Psalm 37:4,Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. What's in your heart? Is it the things of God or the things of this world? Read 1 John 2:15, Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. You must understand that, if you give place to the love of the world, the love of God cannot dwell in you. Those who desire to be great in God’s kingdom must be a servant to all. It would seem that the more we give to others, the poorer we become, but this is not true! Service to others brings meaning and fulfillment to our lives in a way that wealth, power, possessions and self-centered pursuits can never match.  Jesus said, in Luke 6:38, Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you mete with it shall be measured to you also. Our good deeds should be motivated by a sincere desire to help others. Public recognition should not be the goal. Read Matthew 6:1-5, Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. Wow ! This can not be the desire of the believers, you see all glory is God's. Paul had a desire. Paul looked forward to the time he could leave this earthly life behind and be with Christ. Read Philippians 1:21-24, For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. Paul, thought of these things, he was in between two choices; to go to heaven to be with Christ, for his own benefit and enjoyment; or to live here for Christ helping others, the lost to know Christ. Whether we like it or not, we make that decision everyday. Each day when we wake up, we decide whether or not to live for the Lord. Paul comes to the conclusion right away that his life is worth living, because his life is for Christ. In fact, his life is Christ. We as believers do not need to struggle with why we are here, and our purpose in life. God has answered that for us in His Word. Our purpose here is to serve God,and others, and to bring Him glory. You must have a desire to know Him. Read Proverbs 2:3-5,Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. Then read Matthew 5:5-7,Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Thank you Lord for your mercy! Now look at Proverbs 8:34, Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. It says, having a desire to watch and wait to hear from the Lord daily.Thank you Lord for your word. Amen !
