Mark Dean and his co-inventor Dennis Moeller created a microcomputer system with bus control means for peripheral processing devices. Their invention paved the way for the growth in the information technology industry. We can plug into our computers peripherals like disk drives, video gear, speakers, and scanners. Dean was born in Jefferson City, Tennessee, on March 2, 1957. He received his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee, his MSEE from Florida Atlantic University, and his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. Early in his career at IBM, Dean was chief engineer working with IBM personal computers. The IBM PS/2 Models 70 and 80 and the Color Graphic Adapter are among his early work. He holds three of IBM's original nine PC patents.
Currently, Dean is vice president of performance for the RS/6000 Division. He was named an IBM fellow in 1996 and in 1997, received the Black Engineer of the Year President's Award. Dean holds more than 20 patents. He was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 1997. Mark E. Dean and Dennis L. Moeller developed the improvements in computer architecture that allow IBM and compatible PCs to use high performance software and to work in tandem with peripheral devices. Their work enhanced the PC by enabling components to communicate with each other in a high-speed, efficient manner. The first commercial use of their patents was marketed in 1984 in the IBM PC/AT computer.

Children of God, this is the season to stay focus. Let us keep our hearts and minds stayed on Him ( Jesus). Jesus is “the author and finisher of our faith”. Read Hebrews 12:1-2,Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. He is the cause of our faith, we do not possess the power within ourselves to have faith without him. His grace empowers our faith within us by His power and omnipotence. Our faith is in Him, through Him and by His spirit alive within us.You're blessed when you stay on course, walking steadily on the road set before you. Children of God, turn and focus upon Jesus Christ , He is the only way to the Father in heaven, our carnal nature has falling away from Him, focus on Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father.”He came to save a lost and dying world entrapped and enslaved by the curse of sin. He spoke of the good news and preached that the kingdom of God was at hand. Jesus wants to reveal himself to us, it is easy to take our eyes off of Him (God) as we watch all the turmoil taking place round us daily. Understand God is still on the throne, He is in control of everything. The word of God tells us that there is nothing new under the sun to God. Read Ecclesiastes 1:8-10, All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. How many times a day does the enemy try to steal, kill and destroy your faith _____ (daily)? Let us take our thoughts captive and subject them to Christ Jesus. Read 2 Corinthians 10:5-6, Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. Why we need to stay focused, because God has a plan for your life. The Bible says “My people perish for lack of knowledge." Heavenly Father, let us learn to maintain our focus. Let us get to know your way and your plans. Thank you Lord for your word. Amen!

First Lady Michelle Obama was born on January 17, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Princeton University, graduating cum laude in 1985, and went on to earn a law degree from Harvard Law School in 1988. Following law school, she worked at a Chicago law firm, where she met her husband, President Barack Obama.The couple married on October 3, 1992. As first lady, she has focused her attention on current social issues. She would later become a lawyer, Chicago city administrator, community outreach worker and—as the wife of U.S. President Barack Obama—the United States' First Lady. First Lady Michelle was raised on Chicago's South Side in a one-bedroom apartment. Her father, Fraser Robinson, was a city pump operator and a Democratic precinct captain. Her mother, Marian, was a Spiegel's secretary who later stayed home to raise First Lady Michelle and her older brother, Craig. By sixth grade, First Lady Michelle was attending gifted classes, where she learned French and took accelerated courses. First Lady Michelle graduated in 1981 from Whitney M. Young Magnet High School in Chicago's West Loop as class salutatorian. After high school, she followed her brother to Princeton University, graduating cum laude in 1985 with a B.A. in Sociology. She went on to earn a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1988, where she took part in demonstrations demanding more minority students and professors. Following law school, First Lady Michelle worked as an associate in the Chicago branch of the law firm Sidley Austin in the area of marketing and intellectual property.

First Lady Michelle soon left her job to launch a career in public service, serving as an assistant to Mayor Daley and then as the assistant commissioner of planning and development for the City of Chicago. In 1993, she became executive director for the Chicago office of Public Allies, a nonprofit leadership-training program that helped young adults develop skills for future careers in the public sector. First Lady Michelle joined the University of Chicago in 1996 as associate dean of student services, developing the university’s first community-service program. She then worked for the University of Chicago Hospitals beginning in 2002, as executive director of community relations and external affairs. In May 2005, she was appointed vice president for community and external affairs at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she continued to work part-time until shortly before her husband's inauguration as president. She serves as a board member for the prestigious Chicago Council on Global Affairs. First Lady Michelle Obama remains committed to her health and wellness causes.

Faith is believing in Him (Jesus Christ), even though you do not see him. Faith is necessary to please God. Read Hebrews 11:6, But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. If we want to please God we need to know about the faith that pleases God. The kind of faith that we need is called, walking Faith. We need to move forward in our faith, trusting His (Lord's) word. You do know the story of the woman with the issue of blood? She was healed by her faith. Read Mark 5 :25-34, And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, she came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. If we approach God with humility and put our confidence and trust in Him instead of in worldly things, our faith will enable our spiritual healing also. Heavenly Father, we walk by faith, not by sight. For it is through faith that we can trust that God is the One who has all the answers and knows what is best for us. For we can do nothing on our own. For it is written in John 15:5, I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Thank you Lord for your word. Amen !

                                                               Richard Allen

Minister, educator and writer Richard Allen was born into slavery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 14, 1760. He converted to Methodism at age 17, and bought his freedom in 1783. In 1816, he founded the first national black church in the United States,the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He became an activist and abolitionist whose writings inspired Frederick Douglass and Martin Luther King Jr. He died in 1831. Minister, educator and writer Richard Allen was born into slavery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 14,1760. Known as "Negro Richard," he and his family were sold to a Delaware farmer, Stokeley Sturgis, in 1767. After attaining his freedom, Richard took the last name "Allen" and returned to Philadelphia. There, he worked at odd jobs, as a shoemaker and as manager of a chimney-sweeping company. Allen soon joined St. George's Methodist Episcopal Church, where blacks and whites worshiped together. There, he became an assistant minister and conducted prayer meetings for blacks. In 1799, Allen became the first African American to be ordained in the ministry of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Allen died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on March 26, 1831. In 2008, Richard Newman published a biography of Richard Allen, Freedom's Prophet: Bishop Richard Allen, the AME Church and the Black Founding Fathers, in which he suggested that Allen should be referred to as the "black founding father."

My people will be destroyed, because they have no knowledge, Jesus is warning us. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, for they have rejected my word. Read Hosea 4:6-7, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame. The knowledge of God is truth, Israel didn't listen to the truth when it was preached to them and they were destroyed. Will you listen to the truth ? Or will you be destroyed ? In the beginning of time was the word of God, for His children. Read John 1:1-4, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.When we reject God's knowledge, God has no alternative but to reject us. When we reject the knowledge of God, we are in fact rejecting God Himself. We cannot reject what God tells us and think it will be well with us.God is speaking of the knowledge that can only be attained through an intimate, personal relationship and connection to Himself. God is trying to get our attention. The only way that we can learn the truth is to pick up the cross and lay down our life. Do you hear Him calling your name? Will you answer the door and let Him come in? Read Revelation 3:20, Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Heavenly Father, we come before you at the throne of grace, seeking your face. We humbly come before the mercy seat, praying not my will Lord, but thine be done. Thank you Lord for your word. Amen !

The story of Rosa Parks’ Early Life


Rosa Louise McCauley was born in Tuskegee, Alabama, on February 4, 1913. She moved with her parents, James and Leona McCauley, to Pine Level, Alabama, at age 2 to reside with Leona’s parents. Her brother, Sylvester, was born in 1915, and shortly after that her parents separated. Rosa’s mother was a teacher, and the family valued education.Rosa moved to Montgomery, Alabama, at age 11 and eventually attended high school there, a laboratory school at the Alabama State Teachers’ College for Negroes. She left at 16, early in 11th grade, because she needed to care for her dying grandmother and, shortly thereafter, her chronically ill mother. In 1932, at 19, she married Raymond Parks, a self-educated man 10 years her senior who worked as a barber and was a long-time member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). He supported Rosa in her efforts to earn her high-school diploma, which she ultimately did the following year. By refusing to give up her seat to a white man on a Montgomery, Alabama, city bus in 1955, black seamstress Rosa Parks (1913—2005) helped initiate the civil rights movement in the United States. The leaders of the local black community organized a bus boycott that began the day Parks was convicted of violating the segregation laws. Led by a young Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the boycott lasted more than a year—during which Parks not coincidentally lost her job—and ended only when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that bus segregation was unconstitutional. Over the next half-century, Parks became a nationally recognized symbol of dignity and strength in the struggle to end entrenched racial segregation. When Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat in 1955, it wasn’t the first time she’d clashed with driver James Blake. Parks stepped onto his very crowded bus on a chilly day 12 years earlier, paid her fare at the front, then resisted the rule in place for blacks to disembark and re-enter through the back door. She stood her ground until Blake pulled her coat sleeve, enraged, to demand her cooperation. Parks left the bus rather than give in. On Thursday, December 1, 1955, the 42-year-old Rosa Parks was commuting home from a long day of work at the Montgomery Fair department store by bus. Black residents of Montgomery often avoided municipal buses if possible because they found the Negroes-in-back policy so demeaning. Nonetheless, 70 percent or more riders on a typical day were black, and on this day Rosa Parks was one of them. Segregation was written into law; the front of a Montgomery bus was reserved for white citizens, and the seats behind them for black citizens. However, it was only by custom that bus drivers had the authority to ask a black person to give up a seat for a white rider. There were contradictory Montgomery laws on the books: One said segregation must be enforced, but another, largely ignored, said no person (white or black) could be asked to give up a seat even if there were no other seat on the bus available.In the years following her retirement, she traveled to lend her support to civil-rights events and causes and wrote an autobiography, “Rosa Parks: My Story.” In 1999, Parks was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest honor the United States bestows on a civilian. When she died at age 92 on October 24, 2005, she became the first woman in the nation’s history to lie in state at the U.S. Capitol.

Naquasia LeGrand, a 23-year-old resident of Canarsie, Brooklyn. Earlier this week, Naquasia LeGrand was working the closing shift at a KFC restaurant in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood. On Thursday, she was en route to Washington, D.C., to meet President Barack Obama. It has been an interesting year so far for the 22-year-old union activist, a member of the Fast Food Forward movement that’s calling on fast-food companies to pay their employees a starting wage of $15 an hour. After participating in five strikes backed by the Service Employees International Union and the local NY Communities for Change group, LeGrand has become New York City’s face of a growing national movement that underscores the discord between how much millions of fast-food workers in the country earn compared to how much it costs them to live in the United States. There are currently about 8.1 million people in the U.S. working in food preparation and serving-related occupations who make a median wage of $8.98 an hour, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. About 3 million of these workers are fast-food cooks and counter employees, who on average make the lowest wages in the U.S. food services industry. Before traveling to the White House on Thursday, she made an appearance on Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” to deliver her message to the show’s largely sympathetic audience. In an interview with the L.A. Times last year, LeGrand described how she became a labor activist after hearing so many stories from co-workers describing how difficult it was to pay the bills. In a city where $1,500 for a one-bedroom apartment is considered a bargain, it’s difficult to comprehend how service-sector employees being paid even 20 percent to 30 percent above minimum wage can make it here.

A question was asked, How does someone survive on $8 an hour in this city?

LeGrand replied, Me and my grandmother, my aunt and my little cousin live in a two-bedroom apartment. The rent is $1,300. When I started, I was getting about 35 hours a week, when I was training to be a supervisor. That went on for months even before the new manager came in and started cutting hours and hiring more people. Right now I’m only getting about 15 hours a week, so I’m taking home about $100 a week. People have to live together on $8.oo minimum wage. The message here is clear, who is putting others first? Help us Lord to change our way of thinking and doing things for others.

Do you know what the bible says about putting others first? Understand Jesus should always be first in your live no matter what. Then other people, your mother and father, your brothers and sisters, your family members, your friends, your co-workers, your neighbours and people that need help. In the book of Romans chapter 15, Paul says in verse 1-4, We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Jesus is the greatest example to follow, His word is truth and power. We must learn to lay aside ourselves, for the sake of others, this is why I'm sending Thursday's word today. I always put God first, I woke up thursday morning giving the Lord thanks. Then god started my journey, I took care of somethings for my mother early in the morning before I when to work. Then I was driving to work talking with the Lord. I was asking God to give me some understanding of my sisters. The Holy Spirit spoke this to me, I created you for a purpose, for such a time as this. Then, I had made a phone call to my oldest Uncle to say happy birthday, then I called His's girlfriend. I asked her if she had any plans for his birthday today (Thursday)? So, we planned a surprise dinner for Him, family and friends. It was Awesome, he was so thankful. He is 70 years wiser, then the youth out there today. Thank you Lord for his life and his loving spirit, a/k/a-(Uncle Brother). Sometimes, we will have to make a choice, to trust God's will or be like everybody else. We don't have to understand everything, but we must acknowledge God's will. The word of God says, in Proverbs 3:5-6,Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Christ bore the “reproaches” or sufferings for our sake. He could have called the angels to rescue Him but He chose not to, He did this for our salvation. We are weak people, so He gave up Himself to strengthen us. This is the perfect example for us to follow in our daily lives: putting Jesus first, then Others, then Yourself. Heavenly Father, we come before you at the throne room seeking your direction. Let us learn to be more like you Jesus. We have studied your word daily, but we need your power to overcome everything that is not like you. There is only one way to "return God's Word unto Him" and that is by confessing it as being the true living word for your life. This is the faith of Abraham, he had to begin calling himself the father of many nations (Calling those things which be not as though they were) long before his son Isaac was ever conceived in the womb of Sarah. There simply is no separating the power of the Holy Spirit from the spoken Word of God! Trust the word and His plans for your life. Heavenly Father, help us learn to put others before ourselves. Let us learn to have unconditional love for one another. For we are one in the body of Christ ! Thank you Lord for your word. Amen !

Dr. Carter G. Woodson and Rev.Jesse E.Moorland
In 1915, Dr. Carter G. Woodson and Rev. Jesse E. Moorland co-founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (ASNLH). Their goal was to research and bring awareness to the largely ignored, yet crucial role black people played in American and world history. The following year, Woodson published and distributed his findings in The Journal of Negro History. He founded the publication with the hope that it would dispel popular mistruths. He also hoped to educate black people about their cultural background and instill them with a sense of pride in their race.

People of God live in the now. Living in the “now” with Jesus is the epitome of joy, peace, wisdom, power and destiny. Food for thought, read Matthew 6:31-34, Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Heavenly Father, we trust your word Lord. We walk by faith not by sight. Thank you Lord for your word. Amen !

Dr. Andrea Hayes-Jordan
Dr. Andrea Hayes-Jordan is the country’s first black female pediatric surgeon. She currently serves as an Associate Professor at two major Texas hospitals. A graduate of Dartmouth College and Medical School, Dr. Andrea Hayes-Jordan extended her education an additional two years so that she could become one of the few pediatric surgical oncologists in the country. She dedicated her life to finding cures for some of the rarest types of cancers in children. Dr. Andrea Hayes-Jordan completed her Pediatric Surgery Training in 2002 at the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children. The good Doctor became the first surgeon in North America to successfully conduct the adult surgery, hyperthermic peritoneal perfusion (CHPP) on a pediatric patient with tumors that had spread to the abdomen. After she extracted a number of tumors, she ran heated chemotherapy agents through the child’s abdominal area to kill any remaining tumor cells she could not reach on her own. She has increased the number of months and years a child stricken with the disease could live.
“The kids are my inspiration. Each time I interact with them, I’m renewed with energy to continue working towards a cure,” says Hayes-Jordan. “I also have an extremely supportive husband and family at home.” - Dr. Andrea Hayes-Jordan, University of Texas MD Cancer Center.

The message to the beloved Children of God -Everyday is a Journey !
Everyday is a new jouney for all of us. Let us learn to walk in Love for one another. For we don't know what tomorrow will bring, only God knows. So, let us get somethings in order for the jouney of life. Understand that this is a daily jouney, we will have trials and tribulations. Sometimes we will be happy, other times we may be sad, sometimes we will be up and other times down, but we can trust the word of God, He will never change His word. Read Malachi 3:6, For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed. Let us get strength for the journey by reading and studying the word of God daily. Learn to speak the word daily over yourself first, it's in Proverbs 3:5-6,Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. We have a helper for this journey, that will lead and guide us, the Holy Spirit. Understand the Holy Spirit will teach you all things Spiritual. Heavenly Father, we need our spiritual bread everyday. We thank You Lord for always being with us. For we know that there is no one like You Lord. Understand It is a spiritual journey. Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. We thank you Lord for Your word. Amen !

Created by Lieutenant Colonel Allen Allensworth in 1908, the town was built with the intention of establishing a self-sufficient city where African Americans could live their lives free of racial prejudice.

The message to the beloved Children of God - Worshipping God in Spirit and Truth !
Do you know what worship means? Understand that Worship is first and foremost an experience of the heart. It is not the location that makes an act of worship authentic. Worship is not merely an external act that you can accomplish by going to a special place. The Samaritans rejected all the Old Testament truth. Their knowledge of God was deficient and so their worship was deficient. Jesus said in, Matthew 15:8-9, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Understand the time is now, to Worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth. Read John 4:23-24, But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Heavenly Father, we worship you in spirit and truth forevermore. Thank you Lord for your word. Amen !

Kofi Annan - Nobel Prize acceptance speech 2001. Born into a family of traditional chiefs of the Fante tribe in Ghana, Kofi Annan rose to become Secretary General of the United Nations, winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001. He grew up in Ghana where he became known as a student leader. He gained a scholarship to study in the US. He also later studied in Geneva before returning to the US to study management at MIT. For most of his life he has worked in the United nations rising from the lower ranks to become one of the few insiders to be awarded the top job of Secretary General. He served as Secretary General for two terms from 1997 to 2007. Widely admired for his skills of patience and diplomacy.He began working for the World Health Organisation WHO in Geneva in 1962 and later served in the UN high commission for Refugees. Kofi Annan held a series of high profile positions from human resource management to peacekeeping (1992-1996). Kofi Annan was widely liked by both fellow UN workers and even critics of the United Nations. For example, Muhamed Sacribey, the Bosnian Ambassador to the UN was very critical of the United Nations involvement in Bosnia. But, he exempted Kofi Annan. When asked why he replied simply: "Because he is honest." Kofi Annan is married to Nane Annan from Sweden. She is a lawyer and painter and has been a strong supporter of the United Nations. They had three children.

The bible tells us about God's greatest gift to us.Seven hundred years before the birth of Jesus , the prophet said, in Isaiah 9: 6, For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.That prophecy was fulfilled in the words in John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Choose for yourselves, who will you serve? Read Joshua 24:14-15, Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord , choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.Wake up, let us get some understanding about true love. Dr. Maya Angelou is one of the most renowned and influential voices of our time. Born on April 4, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri, writer and civil rights activist Maya Angelou is known for her 1969 memoir, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, which made literary history as the first nonfiction best-seller by an African-American woman. Maya Angelou was born Marguerite Annie Johnson in St. Louis, Missouri. Her parents divorced when she was only three and she was sent with her brother Bailey to live with their grandmother in the small town of Stamps, Arkansas. In Stamps, the young girl experienced the racial discrimination that was the legally enforced way of life in the American South, but she also absorbed the deep religious faith and old-fashioned courtesy of traditional African American life. She credits her grandmother and her extended family with instilling in her the values that informed her later life and career. She enjoyed a close relationship with her brother. Unable to pronounce her name because of a stutter, Bailey called her "My" for "My sister." A few years later, when he read a book about the Maya Indians, he began to call her "Maya," and the name stuck. Maya attended Mission High School and won a scholarship to study dance and drama at San Francisco's Labor School, where she was exposed to the progressive ideals that animated her later political activism. She dropped out of school in her teens to become San Francisco's first African American female cable car conductor. She later returned to high school, but became pregnant in her senior year and graduated a few weeks before giving birth to her son, Guy. She left home at 16 and took on the difficult life of a single mother, supporting herself and her son by working as a waitress and cook, but she had not given up on her talents for music, dance, performance and poetry. She had composed song lyrics and poems for many years, and by the end of the 1950s was increasingly interested in developing her skills as a writer. She moved to New York, where she joined the Harlem Writers Guild and took her place among the growing number of young black writers and artists associated with the Civil Rights Movement.In New York, she fell in love with the South African civil rights activist Vusumzi Make and in 1960, the couple moved, with Angelou's son, to Cairo, Egypt. In Cairo, Angelou served as editor of the English language weekly The Arab Observer. Angelou and Guy later moved to Ghana, where she joined a thriving group of African American expatriates. She served as an instructor and assistant administrator at the University of Ghana's School of Music and Drama, worked as feature editor for The African Review and wrote for The Ghanaian Times and the Ghanaian Broadcasting Company. During her years abroad, she read and studied voraciously, mastering French, Spanish, Italian, Arabic and the West African language Fanti. Seemingly overnight, Angelou became a national figure. In the following years, books of her verse and the subsequent volumes of her autobiographical narrative won her a huge international audience. Since 1981, Angelou has served as Reynolds Professor of American Studies at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Angelou published the Pulitzer Prize-nominated poetry collection Just Give Me a Cool Drink of Water 'Fore I Die. She later wrote the poem "On the Pulse of Morning"—one of her most famous works—which she recited at President Bill Clinton's inauguration in 1993. Angelou has received several honors throughout her career, including two NAACP Image Awards in the outstanding literary work (nonfiction) category, in 2005 and 2009.In 2000, Dr. Angelou was honored with the Presidential Medal of the Arts; she received the Ford's Theatre Lincoln Medal in 2008. The same year, she narrated the award-winning documentary film The Black Candle and published a book of guidance for young women, Letter to My Daughter. In 2011, President Barack Obama awarded her the nation's highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Maya Angelou participated in a series of live broadcasts for Achievement Television in 1991, 1994 and 1997, taking questions submitted by students from across the United States.

The message to the beloved Children of God - Love is Powerful !

                                            Anna Mae Bullock: aka-Tina Turner
Tina Turner was born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939, in Nutbush, Tennessee. Her parents, Floyd and Zelma Bullock, were poor sharecroppers, who, early in her life, split up and left Turner and her sister to be raised by their grandmother. When her grandmother died in the early 1950s, Turner moved to St. Louis, Missouri, to be with her mother. Barely in her teens, Turner quickly immersed herself in St. Louis's R&B scene, spending much of her time at Club Manhattan. It was there, in 1956, that she met rock-and-roll pioneer Ike Turner, whose band the Kings of Rhythm was a fixture at the club. It wasn't long before Turner was performing with the group, and she quickly became the highlight of their show. With their popularity growing, Ike and Tina were married in Tijuana, Mexico, in 1962. Tina and Ike's marriage was in shambles. In 1976, the couple separated both personally and professionally, and in 1978, they were officially divorced, with Tina citing Ike's physically abusive behavior, frequent infidelities and increasing drug and alcohol use. In 1983, however, Turner's solo career finally began to take off when she recorded a remake of Al Green,"Let's Stay Together." The following year, she exploded back into the record industry when her much-anticipated solo album, Private Dancer, was released to overwhelming critical and popular success, and she moved forward. Though she is now semi-retired, Tina Turner does make rare appearances and recordings. Her story today in 2013, it was announced that Turner, at the age of 73, was engaged to marry her longtime partner, German record executive Erwin Bach. The couple has been living together in Switzerland since 1995. In July of 2013, the couple got married in Zurich, Switzerland, only months after Turner gained her Swiss citizenship in the spring. Tina Turner and Erwin Bach are as in love now as they were the day they met.

I was at work two days ago,when I heard this, What's love have to do with it _ ? God's Love is unconditional ! Understand that God is our, heavenly Father, and He loves us. He knows that we will mess up sometimes, he will come for his lost sheep. If you are a parent you know that your love is unconditional for your children, we all have family that we love. Understand it is not God's will for His children to perish. Read 2 Peter 3:1-10, This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. The first thing we need to look at in order to arrive at a proper biblical understanding of what this verse is saying, is to ask ourselves to whom is it written. This will go a long way to finding out just who it is that God does not want to perish, and will leave the reader without room for doubt or uncertainty as to who it is Peter is referring to by his use of the word ‘us’. Open your Bibles and take a look at 2 Peter 3, read verse 9 and then go back to verse 1 and you will quickly discover to whom the letter has been specifically written and who is being spoken about in verse 9. In this kind of love, not that we have loved God first, but that he loved and loves us first, that He sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Read Matthew 18:13-14, And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. We are the sheep the (believers). Love is the key to everything, that unlocked the way to the Father. Read 1 John 4:18-20, There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? I was read a special section in Dr. Charles Stanley's February issue that touch my heart about love. It was speaking about Partners in God's Kingdom. The message was talking about Love in the body of Christ. It was very clear to me that whether single or married, black or white, man or woman, we're all one (THE BELIEVERS) in Christ Jesus. It is very clear that being single or being married don't define a good life.What define us is that we are believers in Christ Jesus. We have been bound together by God. Paul reminded us all, we have been created through Him and for Him. Read Colossians 1:16-17, For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. We should love one another because we are brothers and sisters (believers) in the body of Christ. We are the church, we are One in Christ Jesus, one mind, one spirit, and one Lord. Understand that God's love is free to everyone that believes that Jesus is the Christ. For, Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God and thou shalt be saved. Heavenly Father, we come before you today with open hearts and minds to hear from you Lord. We are your beloved children, and we will follow your command, to love one another. For it is written in John 13:33-34, Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you. A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. Let us your sheep come to the knowledge of the truth, if we do not know the truth we will be lost. Sheep have an instinctive tendency to wander. If the shepherd did not go out and seek this lost creature, it would not have found its way back on its own. That is called true love. Let us come to the mercy-seat seeking reconciliation with him. Children of God read the story in Ezekiel 34:11-16. Thank you Lord for your word and your love for us (Your Beloved Children). Amen !

The First African American to Serve on the U.S. Supreme Court - Thurgood Marshall.
Thurgood Marshall, he was also known as: (born name) Thoroughgood Marshall. Don't overlook the strength from within, Thurgood Marshall, the great-grandson of slaves, was the first African American justice appointed to the United States Supreme Court, where he served from 1967 to 1991. Earlier in his career, Marshall was a pioneering civil rights attorney who successfully argued the landmark case Brown v Board of Education (a major step in the fight to desegregate American schools). The 1954 Brown decision is considered one of the most significant civil rights victories of the 20th century. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on January 24, 1908, Thurgood Marshall (named "Thoroughgood" at birth) was the second son of Norma and William Marshall. Norma was an elementary school teacher and William worked as a railroad porter. When Thurgood was two years old, the family moved to Harlem in New York City, where Norma earned an advanced teaching degree at Columbia University. The Marshalls returned to Baltimore in 1913 when Thurgood was five years old.
Thurgood and his brother, Aubrey, attended an elementary school for blacks only and their mother taught in one as well. In high school, Marshall earned decent grades, but had a tendency to stir up trouble in the classroom. As punishment for some of his misdeeds, he was ordered to memorize portions of the U.S. Constitution. By the time he left high school, Thurgood Marshall knew the entire Constitution by memory. Marshall always knew that he wanted to go to college, but realized his parents couldn't afford to pay his tuition. Thus, he began saving money while he was in high school, working as a delivery boy and a waiter. In September 1925, Marshall entered Lincoln University, an African American college in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. By his second year at Lincoln, Marshall had decided he didn't want to become a dentist, planning instead to use his oratory gifts as a practicing attorney. After graduating from Lincoln in 1930, Marshall enrolled at Howard University Law School, a historically black college in Washington, D.C. where his brother Aubrey was attending medical school. (Marshall's first choice had been the University of Maryland Law School, but he was refused admission because of his race.) Norma Marshall pawned her wedding and engagement rings to help her younger son pay his tuition.
Marshall and his wife lived with his parents in Baltimore to save money. From there, Marshall took the train to Washington every day and worked three part-time jobs to make ends meet. Thurgood Marshall's hard work paid off. He rose to the top of the class in his first year and won the plum job of assistant in the law school library. There he worked closely with the man who became his mentor, law school dean Charles Hamilton Houston. Houston, who resented the discrimination he had suffered as a soldier during World War I, had made it his mission to educate a new generation of African American lawyers. He envisioned a group of attorneys who would use their law degrees to fight racial discrimination. Houston was convinced that the basis for that fight would be the U.S. Constitution itself. He made a profound impression upon Marshall. While working in the Howard law library, Marshall came into contact with several lawyers and activists from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). He joined the organization and became an active member. Marshall began taking cases for the NAACP and was hired as part-time legal counsel in 1935. As his reputation grew, Marshall became known not only for his skill as a lawyer, but also for his bawdy sense of humor and love of story-telling. In the late 1930s, Marshall represented African American teachers in Maryland who were receiving only half the pay that white teachers earned. Marshall won equal-pay agreements in nine Maryland school boards and in 1939, convinced a federal court to declare unequal salaries for public school teachers unconstitutional. He became known as "The Great Dissenter." In 1980, the University of Maryland honored Marshall by naming its new law library after him. Still bitter about how the university had rejected him 50 years earlier, Marshall refused to attend the dedication. Marshall resisted the idea of retirement, but by the early 1990s, his health was failing and he had problems with both his hearing and vision. On June 27, 1991, Thurgood Marshall submitted his letter of resignation to President George H. W. Bush. Marshall was replaced by Justice Clarence Thomas. Thurgood Marshall died of heart failure on January 24, 1993 at the age of 84; he was buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Marshall was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Clinton in November 1993.
The message to the beloved Children of God - It's Christ who strengthens Us !
The word of the Lord, have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. "Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” The Bible wasn't written to us, but for us. Read Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. We need to be reminded that our strength does not come from ourselves, but from our Heavenly Father. The study of God's Word demands our best attention. Read 2 Timothy 2:15 , Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. The Holy Spirit teaches us, but we must apply ourselves as well. We need your power Lord, help us, we can do nothing on our own. Let us grow into the knowledge of the fullness of Christ Jesus. To have the fullness is to know that God's Word means what it says ! For it is written for you have set us free from darkness. Heavenly Father, My prayer for the people of God, in Colossians 1:10-13, That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. Thank you Lord for your power and your word. Amen !

The message to the beloved Children of God - Joyful Sound!

In honor of Black History Month, known also as African-American History Month in America. Everyday we will have a study on Black History and God's love. Let us look at the history of Aretha Franklin. Did You Know?: Aretha Franklin is one of the most honored artists in Grammy Award history, winning her 18th honor in 2008. Aretha Louise Franklin, born on March 25, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Baptist preacher Reverend Clarence La Vaughan "C.L." Franklin, and mother Barbara Siggers Franklin, a gospel singer. The fourth of five children, Franklin's parents separated by the time she was six; four years later, her mother succumbed to a heart attack. Guided by C.L.'s preaching assignments, the family relocated to Detroit, Michigan. C.L. eventually landed at Detroit's New Bethel Baptist Church, where he gained national renown as a preacher. A gifted singer and pianist, Franklin went on tour with her father's traveling revival show and later went to New York and signed with Columbia records. She went on to release several popular singles, many of which are now considered classics. Franklin's musical gifts became apparent at an early age. Largely self-taught, she was regarded as a child prodigy. A gifted pianist with a powerful voice, Franklin sang in front of her father's Detroit congregation. By the age of 14, she recorded some of her earliest tracks at the church. She also performed with C.L.'s traveling revival show and, while on tour, she befriended gospel greats such as Mahalia Jackson, Sam Cooke and Clara Ward.

The word of God says, Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all ye people. Read Psalm 100:1-5, Make a joyful noise unto the Lord , all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. This song of praise should be considered as a prophecy, and even used as a prayer, for the coming of that time when all people shall know that the Lord he is God, and shall become his worshippers, and the sheep of his pasture. Let us think on this note, what has God done for you today___?Nothing can be more sublime this side heaven than the singing of this noble psalm by a vast congregation or a person. God should be worshipped by a happy people; a cheerful sound always. Give thanks unto the Lord for He is good. let your admission be the subject of praise: thanks be to God, the innermost court is now open to believers, and we enter into that which is within the veil; it is incumbent upon us that we acknowledge the high privilege by our songs. Be thankful unto him! Let the praise be in your heart as well as on your tongue, and let it all be for him to whom it all belongs. And bless his name. He blessed you, bless him in return; bless his name, his character, his person. Whatever he does, be sure that you bless him for it; bless him when he takes away as well as when he gives; bless him as long as you live, under all circumstances. The message to the beloved Children of God - Stand Strong !

In honor of Black History Month, known also as African-American History Month in America. Everyday we will have a study on Black History and God's love. The history of Coretta Scott King.
Coretta Scott King was born Coretta Scott on April 27, 1927, in Marion, Alabama. Place of death : Playas de Rosarito, Mexico- January 30, 2006. In her early life, Coretta was as well known for her singing and violin playing as her civil rights activism. She attended Lincoln High School, graduating as the school's valedictorian in 1945, and then enrolled at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music and education. After graduating from Antioch, Coretta was awarded a fellowship to the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, the city where she would meet her future husband, famed civil rights leader Dr.Martin Luther KingJr. (At the time, Martin Luther King Jr. was studying theology at Boston University.) She established a distinguished career in activism in her own right. Coretta earned her second collegiate degree, in voice and violin, from the New England Conservatory of Music in the early 1950s. Not long after, on June 18, 1953, Coretta and Martin married and moved to Montgomery, Alabama, where he served as pastor of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church and she, subsequently, oversaw the various tasks of a pastor's wife. I believe all Americans who believe in freedom, tolerance and human rights have a responsibility to oppose bigotry and prejudice based on sexual orientation."– Coretta Scott King

Read 2 Thessalonians 2:15 , Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which you have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. We must stand firm in our faith in Christ Jesus. Understand that everyone believes in something or someone. Read John 14:12-14,Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. We must stand firm against the enemy. We are at war all the day long, let us learn to be careful. Read 1 Corinthians 10:12 , Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. Let us be firmly rooted in Him, let no one deceive you. Read Ephesians 5:6, Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Heavenly Father, let us learn to stand firm in our faith in You Lord. Thank you Lord for your word. Amen !
